Subway Joins Walmart Express Delivery, Bringing Fresh Meals to Millions of Shared Guests

Guests can now order Subway through the Walmart app or Walmart.com alongside their everyday shopping, delivered in as little as 30 minutes or less

Beginning this month, Subway is available through the Walmart app and Walmart.com. Guests can order their favorite Subway meal and have it delivered to their door in 30 minutes or less. The launch builds on a 20-year relationship between the two brands, with more than 1,400 Subway restaurants currently operating inside Walmart stores across the U.S.

Walmart shoppers can now add a freshly made Subway meal to their delivery order alongside groceries, household essentials and pharmacy items, or order a Subway meal on its own. Pricing is consistent with in-restaurant menus and guests can also order exclusive subs available only at Walmart, including Smoky and BBQ Grilled Chicken as well as unique sides like the SuperPretzel® Soft Pretzel.

“Subway has always been focused on making freshly made, quality meals accessible to customers wherever they are," said Damien Harmon, President of Subway North America. “The integration of Subway delivery into the Walmart app and Walmart.com is a natural evolution of our 20-year relationship built on a shared commitment to value, freshness and everyday convenience."

What Franchisees Are Saying

Martha Jordan has spent nearly 40 years in the Subway system, starting out as a Sandwich Artist before becoming a franchisee. Today, she owns nearly 50 Subway restaurants, including seven locations inside Walmart stores in the greater San Antonio area.

“This expanded program feels very collaborative. Subway and Walmart have a shared interest in making the guest experience more convenient while creating new opportunities for franchisees.”

Satyam Patel, another early participant with a Subway restaurant inside a Walmart store in Milford, CT, sees the program making a difference that goes beyond the restaurant.

“This is great for the community. Guests who already shop with Walmart can now easily add a fresh Subway meal to their order, an extremely valuable convenience.”

How it Works

Delivery of Subway meals through Walmart Express Delivery is now live in select locations across Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, and will expand throughout the summer.

Customers in eligible areas will see the option to order Subway directly on the Walmart app or on Walmart.com. They can browse the Subway menu, customize their meal down to individual toppings and add it to their cart, either on its own or alongside their grocery and household items, all delivered with Express Delivery.

What's Ahead

The launch is one step in a growing Subway-Walmart relationship. In the months ahead, Subway will continue investing in the collaboration, expanding to new locations, remodeling restaurants inside Walmart stores and finding new ways to meet shared guests where they are.
