Subway® Relocating Connecticut Headquarters to Shelton
Company extends nearly 50-year history in the region with investment in northeastern Fairfield County

MILFORD, Conn. (June 27, 2022) – Subway today announced the relocation of its global Connecticut headquarters to a world-class, modernized space in Shelton, Conn. This major investment – a 15-year commitment for nearly 90,000 square feet in the heart of the Shelton business district – builds on nearly five decades of history in the region.

“We explored multiple options as we started on the journey to refresh our offices in Connecticut, taking into consideration the community we’ve been a part of for nearly 50 years, while also ensuring we’re able to provide our employees an exceptional workplace experience both professionally and personally,” said CEO John Chidsey. “We’re extremely excited about our new location in Shelton that will feature an upgraded, modernized workspace as well as outstanding amenities within the corporate complex.”

Subway’s new Connecticut headquarters at 1 Corporate Drive in Shelton will offer a range of on-site conveniences, including multiple dining options, state-of-the art fitness centers, recreational activities, such as tennis and basketball, medical facilities, covered parking and childcare centers.

“This move is all about enhancing our employee experience,” said Bill Ekstrom, Subway Director of Business Services. “In addition to being able to offer many additional features and an elevated, contemporary space, it was of utmost importance that we found a location that would provide minimal disruption to our employees. The close proximity to our current Milford home – just 10 miles down the road – will help us do just that, plus provide more services that will allow employees to take care of errands and personal needs on site.”

The close access to much of the state is a key feature of Subway’s new headquarters. Eighty percent of Connecticut is within a 50-minute drive, with easy access to major and alternative roadways.

“Connecticut has been home to Subway since the company was founded in 1965,” said Chidsey. “From what began in Milford and continues in Shelton, we are pleased to strengthen our commitment to the region as we look to the future of the brand.”

All functions of the company’s existing Milford-based team will transition to the new space. The estimated move to the new location is spring 2023.

The new Connecticut office is the next step in Subway’s efforts to modernize and transform the company. This fall, the Subway corporate office in Miami, Fla., will be complete. Subway announced its second headquarter location in 2021. Consumer-facing functions are now based in Miami and enable even stronger integration between Subway and Independent Purchasing Cooperative, Inc. (IPC), Subway’s franchisee-owned and operated purchasing and supply chain cooperative.
