As Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer, Miguel Piedra leads Subway’s global people, communications, and sustainability strategy, aligning culture, talent, and reputation to support business and franchisee success. His remit includes people and performance, talent strategy, total rewards, workforce systems, as well as corporate, field, and internal communications, global sustainability, and global meetings and events.
With over 20 years of executive-level brand and communications experience, Miguel has shaped global brand narratives across industries — including hospitality and QSR, where he served as chief communications officer at Burger King Corp. and Restaurant Brands International. Most recently, Miguel served as senior vice president of communications and content at Travel + Leisure Co. He also spent several years living and working internationally where he led communications and events for Disneyland Resort Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.
For more than a decade, Miguel served as co-founder and managing partner of RockOrange, an award-winning integrated marketing and communications agency that represented a diverse roster of global brands including Spotify, Jet Blue, Dunkin, Chick-fil-A and TelevisaUnivision among others. Miguel began his career as an Emmy Award-winning television reporter. He holds a degree from the University of Miami.
